The exhibition space of Fondazione Biscozzi | Rimbaud ETS is located in a small historic building in Piazzetta Giorgio Baglivi 4, in the centre of Lecce, a few metres from Porta Napoli. There is a permanent display of the most important and representative pieces of the collection on the first floor. The works are placed in chronological order: from the origins of contemporary art to the informal section in Italy and Europe. This leads on to the abstract-geometric and kinetic, to analytical painting and, finally, on to research that goes beyond traditional painting and sculpture. The signage and directions for the visit, designed instinctively by Luigi Biscozzi, and carried out by Paolo Bolpagni in collaboration with the architects Fabrizio and Marco Arrigoni, are clearly legible and fluid. Some of the spaces on the ground floor are intended for temporary exhibitions. This floor also houses the ticket office/bookshop, the teaching room, an internal courtyard and the small library of art history that is also used to host conferences and events. The restoration of the venue, designed by Studio Arrigoni, is intended to be both functional and elegant, as well as very respectful of its architectural context.
